Kino Bay is an easy 230 mile drive from the U.S. border in Nogales, Arizona. It's 60 miles west of the metropolitan city of Hermosillo which is the capital of Sonora, Mexico. According to history, during the 17th century, the famous Jesuit missionary Eusebio Francisco Kino, was in the area of the bay which today is called after him and made the first colonization efforts.
In the early 1930’s adventurers built trails between Hermosillo and areas close to the ocean and thus the town of Old Kino or Kino Viejo was established.
Kino Bay is located in the middle of the Sonoran coastline, 100 kilometers from Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora, where it is considered the city’s natural beach.
Since quite long ago, Kino Bay has been the favorite rest and recreation site for people from Hermosillo and foreign tourists, who find that this place is different, because it is still possible to enjoy a peaceful and calm environment on the sea shore, enjoying comfort.
